Economic Intelligence is based on an approach of anticipation and in-depth knowledge of the environment in which financial and non-financial businesses, public organizations and territories evolve. The latter are supported by an in-depth examination of the economic and social actors- networks as a way to act and interact in the face of a specific situation as well as in a context of development or crisis. The coordination of actions in the case of a collective project within a public, private, governmental or non-governmental requires a strong capacity to grasp changes in the environment at each stage of the implementation of a strategy in order to determine the factors of change or even disruption. This can be done not only by identifying the opportunities it offers, but also by highlighting the risks, threats, hazards, uncertainties and insecurities for the purpose of re-evaluating the adopted strategy so as to make the necessary adjustments. To do this, the State, companies, territories and other economic actors, including those from civil society pursuing economic purposes are called to build an information ecosystem for strategic environmental monitoring with an operational purpose to achieve objectives in terms of innovation and value creation through the definition of new strategies. In light of the above considerations, decision-makers and developers need new operating methods to win the battle for economic sovereignty and global security with the aim to avoid strategic dependencies and capture through information not only changes related to geopolitical, economic, social and cultural mechanisms, but also technological and ecological ruptures as well as factors linked to external attractiveness. Economic intelligence tries to respond to all of these concerns. Thanks to its effectiveness and viability that it is triggering the interest of many fields of knowledge to embrace other areas of the human activity. In this context, the 4th Meeting of the Economic Intelligence African Associations Forum will examine the current state of research in economic intelligence through covering a broad range of topics related to this area of research.
